NEW YORK (Jan. 9, 2014) – The PRSA Foundation announced a new scholarship established by Axia Public Relations. The scholarship was designed for students who demonstrate a passion for public relations as well as a dedication to professional ethics and excellence.
“As a college student, I depended on full-time employment, scholarships and student loans to earn my degree” said Jason Mudd, CEO of Axia Public Relations. “This scholarship is Axia’s way of giving back to the public relations profession by attracting more students to rewarding PR careers.”
The $2,000 annual award will be given to a student who is a junior or senior in good academic standing at an accredited university, majoring in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising or marketing, with a commitment to working in a public relations profession. The winner must also have previous public relations or related experience through volunteering, employment or an internship. The full scholarship criteria and application are available online at http://www.prssa.org/scholarships_competitions/individual/Axia/index.html.
“We are very pleased that Axia Public Relations decided to give an annual scholarship through the PRSA Foundation,” said PRSA Foundation president, Lou Capozzi. “We look forward to receiving applications from a very diverse and enriched group of candidates.”
Each year the PRSA Foundation awards more than $25,000 in scholarships to students who exhibit outstanding merit in public relations.
